Collections Care Specialist
The Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs (WDVA), has an opening for a Curator position to work as part of the team at the award-winning Wisconsin Veterans Museum sharing the stories of our state’s military veterans and their history-shaping exploits. The Veterans Museum is in the heart of Madison, close to the Capitol and State Street. This position will split time between the main museum location and the State Archive Preservation Facility on South Thornton Avenue.
Position Summary
This position is responsible for the preservation, restoration, and maintenance of historical collections. This position oversees pest management, environmental monitoring, and the disaster plan for the museum and storage facility. The incumbent is also responsible for tasks related to handling and preparing collections for installation and display. This position also directs the work of part-time museum interns, volunteers, and limited term employees.
Salary Information
The starting salary for this position is between $27.90 – $30.42 an hour ($58,032 – $63,273 annually). The Curator classification is in pay schedule and range 13-04.
Salaries are dependent on candidate qualifications. Compensation for current State employees may vary and will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan.
