Midwest Museum Mixers 2024

Midwest Museums Mixer – Saint Paul, MN

May 16, 2024 at 5:00-7:00 PM CT

Join us for our next Midwest Museums Mixer at the Minnesota Historical Society (MNHS) on May 16! We’ll use our time together to discuss timely issues, reconnect, and explore the museum’s latest exhibition, Black Citizenship in the Age of Jim Crow.

This in-person event is casual, so we invite you to come as you are, participate in the activities that make you happy, and stay as long as you please. Sweet treats from Cookie Cart, an awesome local social enterprise teaching teens of color real-world skills at nonprofit bakeries, and a selection of sodas from Northern will be available.

Capacity is limited. Please RSVP using our online form by May 10 to let us know you are coming. Maximum two tickets per signup. Feel free to bring a museum colleague as a guest! All are welcome.

Midwest Museums Mixer – Chicago

March 5, 2024 at 4:00-6:00 PM CT

The Association of Midwest Museums (AMM) and the National Museum of Puerto Rican Arts & Culture (NMPRAC) invite you to join us for food, conversation, and fun at our Midwest Museums Mixer in Chicago, IL!

This event will include food and beverages courtesy of our museum host and a chance to explore the NMPRAC’s newest temporary exhibitions Celebrating 100 Years of Rafael Tufiño at ICP , Resistencia y Libertá por Bombazo Wear, Taínos Vive! Caribbean Indigenous Resistance, Arte de La Borinqueña, and their permanent exhibition Jens Jensen.

We’ll also dedicate some of our time together to brainstorming solutions to a common challenge – keeping up with the rising cost of operations. We’ll swap revenue-generating ideas that have worked (and those that haven’t) and come up with some creative ways to increase audience engagement and visitation.

This in-person event is casual, so we invite you to come as you are, participate in the activities that make you happy, and stay as long as you please. All are welcome.
