The Lake County Historical Society is looking for its next Executive Director!

History isn’t just about what happened yesterday. It’s about the stories we preserve, the places we protect, and the connections we make with the people who call this place home.

The Lake County Historical Society is looking for a leader who shares that passion and is ready to help write the next chapter of our story.

Based in Two Harbors, Minnesota, LCHS preserves and shares the history of Lake County through three historic properties: the Duluth & Iron Range Depot Museum, the 3M Birthplace Museum, and the Two Harbors Light Station Museum and Lighthouse Bed & Breakfast.

As Executive Director, you’ll help guide the future of these unique properties and the organization behind them. Working with the Board of Directors, you’ll lead everything from fundraising and strategic planning to financial oversight, collections care, staff management, and community partnerships.

This is a role for someone who enjoys variety, believes in the importance of local history, and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves. You’ll have the opportunity to build relationships, explore new ideas, and find creative ways to connect people with the rich history of Lake County.

We’re proud of the history we’ve preserved over the years, and we know there’s still so much more to do. We’re looking for someone ready to take on that challenge and help us make the most of the opportunities ahead.
