It is with great pride and pleasure that we invite you to join us in Madison, Wisconsin for the 2013 AMM Conference, Locally Grown, Community Created. For 86 years, museum professionals in the Midwest have convened at the AMM conference to share best practices and discuss emerging trends in the field. The AMM conference is a special program that brings us together to connect with our colleagues, share innovative ideas, and refresh our creative juices.
This year's conference will feature outstanding sessions and speakers as well as exciting evening events and tours. Our Program Committee, representing all types and sizes of museums from around the Midwest, has developed an exceptional program for us with something for everyone. We're particularly pleased to announce that we are working with the local chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and have established a special track of sessions focusing on fundraising.
To kick off the conference, we'll enjoy an opening reception at the beautiful and newly expanded Chazen Museum of Art. The following evening, we'll tour the Aldo Leopold Nature Center and the Olbrich Botanical Gardens. As an exclamation mark, we have scheduled a progressive reception at four of the outstanding museums located in downtown Madison, including the Madison Children's Museum, the Wisconsin History Museum, the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Wisconsin Veterans Museum.
As the state capitol and the home of the University of Wisconsin, Madison is a beautiful and dynamic city with many fabulous museums and a vibrant cultural arts scene. Located on an isthmus between beautiful Lake Mendota and Lake Monona, Madison is an exciting and pedestrian-friendly city with a truly unique vibe. Our host hotel (and conference venue), the Concourse Hotel, is a beautiful property conveniently located in downtown Madison, which is alive with many outstanding restaurants and shops. Plan to arrive early for wildly popular Art Fair on the Square or join us for a tour of Old World Wisconsin!
We look forward to seeing you in Madison!
