The Executive Director is primarily responsible for overall operational and strategic plan execution of the NMHFM. This includes visioning, managing the budget, financial performance, exhibits, collections, staff, community affairs, grant applications and other duties as required. Preferred qualifications include:

·         Experience in the museum field (curation, preservation, ethics, management and legal)

·         Master’s in museum studies, public history, or a related field

·         Some knowledge of the past and present state of the mining industry

·         Experience working in a non-profit organization

·         Skills managing personnel, finances, and museum operations

·         Enthusiasm for and a record of success in fundraising

·         Willingness to be the face of the organization

·         Ability to negotiate effectively with board and outside entities

Starting salary $80,000-$100,000 (dependent on experience) with some benefits. Starting date May 2022.
